The experience of refinancing with Matt Arrillaga was as smooth and painless as one could expect, and frankly surprising given the complexities of mortgage loans and refinance. I loved the ZOOM interface, as well. Matt is an EXCELLENT mortgage broker, and I will continue to refer family and friends to him. Once recommendation, however, is related to the post-loan experience. The interface for paying the monthly mortgage via Wintrust mortgage is antiquated. Ideally there would be functionality allowing me to change the amount I'd like to add to the principal easily and frequently online. Having to do this via a form does not allow for easy monthly changes as needed. Additionally, I would ideally be able to view my loan, loan documents, escrow, etc in the same site, rather than via a separate site with Barrington Bank. For reference, a great example of an online mortgage interface is the one I had with my previous mortgage - Mr. Cooper.

Extremely knowledgeable

My only complaint was with the mortgage payment instructions and coupons I was sent via email. I was struggling with that this morning. It was not at all clear - who is the check made out to, where is it to be mailed, what should I include in the envelope? So I wrote a check but I was 'winging' it. Hope it was right and it gets where it's supposed to go, fingers crossed here.

The entire process worked great. Matt was very responsive and extremely well informed. My only suggestion/request is for the monthly statement to be sent two weeks earlier. I have been receiving it on the 27th or 28th of the month with a payment due the 1st of the following month. That becomes a problem if I happen to be out of town.

Matt did a great job helping us with our refi loan. Everything went really smooth and fast. He communicated very well on everything we needed, and what we needed to provide for the process.
