I met Scott through my real estate brokerage where I am a newly licensed agent in Virginia. My husband and I relocated to Hampton Roads area with the Navy. Although I have 23 years experience in the mortgage and real estate industry, I had never worked with a VA loan until my husband and I were purchasing our own home with a VA loan. Scott sent me a link to apply for a mortgage and we uploaded our documents on January 26th. On January 27th, Scott called to tell me that he had approved us for a loan. We began looking at properties that weekend and we were under severe time constraints as my husband was scheduled to ship out in March. If we were going to buy a house, we either had to do it now or wait until April. If we did not find something in April, our next opportunity would not happen until December due to deployment. Knowing the market would heat up in April and prices were likely to go up, we rushed the process. Scott was available over the weekend to answer my questions. I gave him a few addresses, he calculated the property taxes and purchase price to make sure we were within our limits. When I told him we were ready to make an offer, he sent the preapproval letter over. By Monday, January 30th, only 4 days later, we had submitted our offer and our approval letter and our offer was accepted! Scott would text me to ask if I was available every time he had a question or an update. He was diligent in follow up and helped me structure the loan and offer terms before submitting the offer. This allowed us to roll our closing costs into the purchase price, minimizing our out of pocket expenses. By February 22nd my husband was signing loan docs and picking up the keys to our new house. From the time I submitted our mortgage application and income documents to the time we closed and picked up keys it had only been 27 days. Scott took the time to listen to our needs, our timeline, and work with us to get the loan closed within a very short window. We had to move up our closing date in order to meet the move out requirements of our rental and in doing so Scott saved us an additional month's worth of rent. The level of Scott's communication, availability, and willingness to prioritize our needs made all the difference. With 23 years experience in the business, I know that in referring clients to Scott they will be well taken care of. Working with a lender like Scott will also help listing agents prioritize my clients offers over other agents offers.
